Flasktjockleksmätare

Testmaterial

A Flasktjockleksmätare is used to measure the wall and bottom thickness of PET drink bottles, glass bottles, aluminum cans, infusion bottles, beer bottles, oral liquid bottles, ampoules, penicillin bottles, and other containers. Suitable materials include PET, glass, aluminum, HDPE, LDPE, and PP, covering beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial packaging.

Testprocess

Place the container on the gauge’s test stand, align the probe with the target point, and measure wall or bottom thickness. For contact gauges, the probe touches the surface; for ultrasonic types, coupling gel is applied before taking readings. Multiple measurements from various points ensure accuracy, and results can be exported to Excel via an optional data cable.

Tolkning av testresultat

Uniform thickness ensures container strength and performance. Thin areas may indicate production defects; excessive thickness can raise material costs. Measurements are compared with design specifications and industry tolerances to assess quality.

Related Standards

Relevant standards include ASTM D6988 (plastic film thickness), ASTM E797 (ultrasonic measurement), ISO 4593 (mechanical scanning), and GB/T 17219 (safety evaluation for drinking water materials), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
